FLHTCUI vs FLHTCU
Skip it, search is your friend... there is no difference anymore since all are injected.
I'm looking at parts and accessories for my 07 Ultra Classic and some of the listings say except FLHTCUI models. Am I missing something, I'm not sure of the switch over to FI but wouldn't all FLHTCU be I as well?

Prior to EFI there were carb bikes and for a short transitional period both carb and EFI models were sold alongside each other, so the model designations came with an 'I' or not, accordingly. Looks like 1995 was first year for the FLHTCUI and 1997 was last year of the FLHTCU Evo, however since 2006, once EFI had become widely accepted, they have dropped the 'I' on the twincams.

I thought it was 2007 that they dropped the I, but it could have been 06.
Wasn't a matter of accepted, they just stopped making carbs. I believe it was emissions regulations, but obviously the world moves on with technology.

First EFI Harley I ever saw was a 1995 Tour Glide.....I and wanted that bike. Back then....you still had to wait along time to get your bike.
Harley knew EFI was eventually gonna takeover the carburetor. It was acceptance, emissions, cost, and foreseeable competition.
Just like automobiles....carburetors were gone by the early 1990s.
Next.....EFI is gonna be gone as well.....moving to all electric.
