I wanted to share my experience...
Last year my 2009 Ultra threw codes for the TPS... after pulling all the pins from the Throttle Body connector I discovered the Black/White wire had a break in the wire (but not through the insulator). The break was near the pin... maybe 1/8" from the pin. I soldered in a 3" section of wire and had a bit of trouble getting the pin back into the connector.. the solder joint was right inside the connector. I was able to get it to work though.
Fast-forward to yesterday... while riding around town the solder joint failed... right at the connector. I rode it home in limp mode, pulled the pin from the connector and took it with me to a local independent shop in town. I had the owner make me a pigtail with the pin attached. He used the same black/white wire... charged me $10 (much less expensive and faster than if I had ordered the pins and crimper online). I cut out the wire I had added last year and soldered in the pigtail/pin... pushed the pin into the TB connector and I'm rolling again.
I think this will be a better fix than last year since it doesn't have a solder joint at the connector now... and the wire has a little slack in it. I hope I never have to revisit this issue.
