Default Molex plug ( pins )

Do we have to order pins through Harley Davidson in order to replace pins in the connector on the throttle body of a 09 ultra , and also can these be soldered instead of crimped

No, Drag Specialties and others have the pins. They can also be cut and soldered (lengthened) or can be removed from connector and crimped with proper tool and reinstalled

If you get a proper crimp tool you'll forget about soldering them too... mine is the kind that makes both of the crimps at the same time (with one click) and it is solid and doesn't deform (bend) or tweak the pins in the process. Which is what would happen using my cheapo crimpers I had laying around. I used to solder mine too, just seemed "better", but after getting the proper tool I don't think its necessary at all and its so much simpler.

If I need the pins right now, I go to the dealer and they have them in stock usually. They aren't very much and convenient if you just need a couple and like Right Now.

I have used this one before. Doesn't break the bank and does a good job.

thanks for the links to the crimpers. I replaced the twist sensor an the wire it plugs into. occasionally I get a CEL when I crank the bars stop to stop parking. It goes away after shutting it down then restarting it a few minutes later. I'm thinking it's the pins on the connector inside the fairing to the harness. That will be job one when the riding season is over.
