Can one of you please clarify what seems to be the biggest pain and time-consuming part of the job the switch housings themselves or the switch covers?

I'm trying to determine whether I just want to do the housings and leave my switces stock black or switch out the housings and the switch covers for the chrome ones.

To do the switch caps, you have to pull the housing apart anyway.

I much prefer the chrome housings as they're more durable than the black paint and very good looking. The switch caps look, to me, tacky in chrome.

They are in equal parts a pain in the a**. The switch covers because you're gutting the switch covers, really once that's done the button covers aren't that huge a pain except the springs on the horn and starter buttons and the fact they're plastic and brittle.

Me too. I think the chrome/black contrast looks way better than everything chrome. My thoughts anyhow....
