You brought back some funny memories for me Crazycoop.

I had a gold one of those when I was 9 or 10. My pops brought it home for me one day and that was the beginning.

I rode that dam thing around a 20 mile radius from my house. Going out first thing in the morning and not coming back till night. If mom & dad only knew where I was ridin to. I remember one time ridin an exit or two on I495 LIE at about 10 yrs old with a girl on the back doing 55-60mph. The cagers were lookin at me like I was crazy!

Man, that was fun back then. I wrecked mine in a crash, bent the hell out of it and that was the end of my trail 70.

My 10yr old son is pushing me for his first ride right now, if he only knew!!!

The guy was a dick! Enjoy!

You look like you got alittle mass behind ya though, I bet you sure did look alittle funny on a 70...lol. Don't give up the King.

Ezz
It's amazing how many people have told me stories about how the Trail 70 was their first bike or how their dad brought it home for them. Or any story period about how much fun they were!

Break down and buy your kid something and plant that memory in his mind for the rest of his life just like your father did!
Oh ya, at 5'10" and 260lbs I thought it would be better to install a 125 cc engine on my CT70 and it will go 55-60 mph with me on it! One thing I can't understand is the fact that all of my friends are calling me Magilla Gorilla!

My King will be around for a long time, not going to give it up anytime soon!

Crazycoop,

I got more smiles than a man should have at the "dick" comment broughtbrings back a great memory I have..

I have been riding for 40+ yrs..since I was 5 yrs old..my first bike was the even smaller versionHonda 50 Mini trail...a few years ago, I had the lucky chance to ride one again..picture a man 6'5", 265 lbs on a Mini trail..and that was me..Rode it around the block and went with a friend to the local cycle shop to get some parts for hisbike..as it wasa few miles up the road, I rod the Mini..it was an outright blast..well, we got to the shop, went inside and after finding our stuff, we were at a parts counter and there were a couple guys there talking..(they were on a mix of bikes--Harleys, Kawasakis, etc..) and one of em standing right in front of me, turned to his friend and made the comment "I wonder what Dumba$$ MF rode that thing here"..I politely tapped him on the shoulder, as he was probably a good 6 inches shorter and 100 lbs less than me, and said.."Dumba$$ MF standing right behind you"..the look on his face was worth every word..one of those deer in the headlight, **** in your pants look..As he and his friends were getting ready to leave, very quietly I will say, I got on that Mini 50, headed out of the parking lot, looked back at the guy, and with a smile on my face, gave him the finger..you should have seen him laugh!

Thanks for the story of yours..and a beautiful piece of childhood memory you got there!!

Way too cool!

Russl179, "All two-wheeled rides are good, except for crotch rockets." That is same to me as saying "dick". I ride both a "crotch rocket"and a"lazy boy". '(01 Aprilia Mille R and '04 Road King.) There are stupid stuntingkids out there with sport bikes but there are also drunk dick heads out there with harleys. All 2-wheel riders should be treated similar unless they prove themselves otherwise.
I was joking...I should have said tongue-in-cheek.

While I have always built and ridden just H-D's for the street, I grew up on Jap dirtbikes and enduros.
My two closest friends in this entire shitty world both ride Hondas. Nothing pisses me off more than seeing some POS H-D wearing fool acting like a major ******** to someone just because of their bike.

I tend to be aggreesive when people start getting nasty with me, comes from living so close to NYC my whole life I guess. I think what you did was totally acceptable, in fact I would have told the guy to go **** himself right on the spot if I had pulled up on the Trail 70. **** him and his sportster.

Yea my first ride was a Honda Mini Trail 50 CC . I rode from sun up to sun down.
My Dad was always out of mower gas. LOL. By the time I was done with it I was
missing teeth and the bike looked just as bad. We both got beet up. BUT IT WAS FUN!

Looking at your picture in your sig I would say either he was a big fella or just plain stupid. I learned very young that calling someone bigger than me anything negative was very stupid! you handled it very well. BTW very clean Honda!

Ride Safe,

Mike

I know exactly were you are coming from I have a raked and slammed Vulcan 1500 classic I ride when I want to just go bar hopping. A lot of time there is always someone there that wants to talk a little chit about it but when someone else informs them I also have a Harley their demeanor usually changes. And usually they want toask questionsabout the Vulcan. I don't care what you ride as long as you ride. Egos are everywhere just some people are as you put it "dicks"
