Default Heated grips

What experience has everyone had with aftermarket heated grips? I live in WI and like to ride as long as I can. I have the stock heated grips on my 13 limited currently and they are getting pretty rough. I want to replace them this winter. I always loved the kuryakyn iso grips on my old bike but it doesn't look like they make a heated version. Any suggestions and experiences would great.

I put heat demon grip heaters on my 06 EG and they worked very well. The heaters fit inside the bars so I'm not sure they would work on a throttle by wire bike (the 06 was a cable throttle) but it did leave options open for any grip that I wanted. Harley makes some pretty nice looking heated grips in my opinion and they would be plug and play.

Revzilla sells First Gear Heated Gloves for $149. Why not get them and have your whole hand heated instead of just the palm? Saves you 100 too. Harley heated grips are $249.
Another advantage is that if you have more than one bike, or you are on a trip with a rented bike, you always have warm hands since the gloves travel with YOU, instead of the grips only on one bike.

I've used heated gloves and also the grips, over the years, although never both at the same time. You are quite right about the benefits of gloves, however the grips are always on the bike, even in the depths of summer - when it can (in some corners of the world) get darned cold in the evening. So they each have their merits and I found that on simply chilly mornings, for example, the grips were fine. Being idle retired these days I don't use either as I can be more choosey when I ride!

I've had heated gloves and grips and prefer the grips so much more. Mine are the HD grips so I cannot provide alternatives but stick with grips.

I have all the heated gear and use it a lot during the winter but, I had heated grips installed a week or so ago on my 19 SGS when I had the handle bars changed. My daily ride to work is only 20 miles. I didn't like having to "wire up" to use the heated gloves. On longer trips, I would use the gloves but, on shorter runs, I think the heated grips with light weight gloves will be the ticket. I'll know for sure this winter.

Oh yea, I got the Harley Kahuna heated grips. Look great.

That makes a lot of sense. For only 20 miles, I wouldn't bother with a "wired" connection either.

The only drawback I find with the Heat Demon type bar heater is there's allot of bar and grip to go through before I feel the heat.
And because of windchill effect when moving I feel it even less.

I had a Limited with the factory heated grips, on my RK, I put the HD chrome/rubber heated grips and they don't seem to perform as well as the stock rubber grips. The limited I barely ever got above 2, The RK, I have to keep them at 6.
