Fox Shock Report
So far, after 100 miles, I have a smile on my face. These shocks are actually delivering a great ride and believe me, the roads here in NJ are horrible. I went searching for all the bumps and holes that I was familiar with and these shocks ate them up.
I realize 100 miles is really too early for a rave review but I have been through so many different brand shocks, by now, I know what I am looking for.
Fox is not one of the most popular brands on this forum but for me I feel like I have found the Holy Grail. Ill keep you posted as I put more miles on them.
Glad you found the shocks you like. Thats my next "project" if I ever "finish" the audio stuff.

I had the same rear shocks put on my 14 Ultra at Sturgis this year. I had them do the new cartridges in the front also. The ride home to Boise was a heck of a lot better then out to Sturgis. Ride was day and night difference for me--i have been looking at new shocks for the last couple of years and reading on all the posts and Fox wasn't really mentioned except in a few places and Decided on Fox at the rally after feedback from a couple of guys at my camp who had had the rears done on their bikes last year and were having the fronts done this year at the rally. T. It has been the best investment i have made in the bike. Had the install done at the rally and road a good set of twisty and bumpy/washboard road the next day and was amazed on the difference. Went back to the Fox Tent and told the techs i was very happy and thanked them. Very Happy with the purchase---
Getting the front and rear suspension done at the 2019 Sturgis Rally. Fox Tech team did a great job!

When the shocks were delivered they were set on #1 position for preload ( there are 5 positions that are marked but if need be you can go farther that that) and the dampening was in the middle at 12 clicks. The chart that comes with the shocks says for my weight it should be set on 3 and I should obtain a sag of 12.01” measured from center bolt to center bolt of the shock.
With the shock on #1 preload I obtained that sag. Maybe because the springs are new and haven’t had much wear on them. Anyway I rode the first 100 miles like that and it was fantastic. I’m a tinkerer so I couldnt resist putting the preload to the prescribed #3 setting. My sag got less to 12.5 “ so I figured I would soften the dampening 3 clicks. I then rode a few hundred miles over roads that I have been over many times and know where most of the bad bumps are. The ride was still great and those bad bumps felt like little pimples.
So even though I made changes the shocks still had that same great feel. These are keepers as far as I’m concerned. They
have a totally different feel than say, pro-action.
I wish my car performed as good as these. Lol
