Last year I began experimenting with different windshield heights. (Bike is a 06 EG, Im 5'11)I ran a Freedom shields 9" and a 10". Even with the 10", Im still getting violent wind hitting the very top of my helmet. (to the point that my head shakes so much that I cant read road signs 100 yards away). Freedom shields was GREAT to work with, but I dont want to go to an 11 inch high model as I dont like the look (Its starting to look like my bike is ALL windshield)
Again, Freedom Shields makes a great product and their customer service is second to none, I just dont know if its right for me)
I rode a sporty for 18 years and Ive done my time getting blown around..... I want a windshield that *totally* blocks the wind, but isnt 9 feet tall. Does such a creature exist or am I going to have to suffer in the aesthetics department and just get a even higher windshield?
I took my Road King for a quick spin today; last ride till spring. For the first time, since getting it new in 2016, I went without the hard cases. I couldnt believe how much smoother everything was. No wind. No buffering. In the spring Ill look at wind deflectors for the forks to see if I can redirect air away from the lower part of the bike. Has anyone else tried this and if so what were the results.

My wife's windshield on her Corolla completely blocks wind buffeting. The Freedom Shields on my Electra Glide and the Memphis Shades on my Low Rider both allow some wind to hit me... I call it wind therapy...
Interesting choice of user name...

I think you need a car. Buys motorcycle, is bothered by wind. Very strange.
Yep, the adjustable windscreen may be the second best invention behind the internal combustion engine. Miss mine on my BMW R1200RT.

I changed out the factory windscreen on my RT to a Ztechnik which has a recurve. Works great! That plus the electrically adjustable windscreen on the RT and I have zero buffeting. Still have the ol' RT and I think it still looks great for being almost 19 years old.
Most buffeting comes from below. Im not sure about your specific application but look around for devices that block the wind below the tank. Ie, lowers. In my case I use Baker Air Wings.
Correct,Ifyou still have buffeting with a correct screen. The wind comes from between the stansions and around the tank.It hits your chest and bobbles your head. Cross your left arm over your belly and your head will be steadied
Then you go to your shop and buy the Harley dish deflector which nobody knows about, that bolts on under the lower tripple tree.I have transferred my 2010 unit on to all 6 of my upgrades and even modified the bolt holes to fit the 2018 SGS Milwaukee.
