Default 13" shocks

Does anyone know the shock length (eyelet center to center) on the air shocks for a 2011 Ultra Limited ? I think they are the same for that an the Electra Glide Ultra Limited, and Classic. What I'm trying to find out if the air shocks are the same 13" as on my 2018 FLHTP. I'm thinking the air shocks will give me a smoother ride than my stock "new version" shocks. What do you guys think ? thanks all. Bob

They will work but why? Have you tried adjusting them?

I changed from the stock 13” air shocks on my 2014 Road King to 12” Progressive shocks in an attempt to lower it a bit, then went back to 13” shocks, this time new take-off hand adjustable. The hand adjustable 13” shocks are better than the 13” air shocks in my opinion. Not dramatically better, but better.

I think you will be disappointed going from the new hand adjustable shocks to the air shocks. At best there won’t be any difference.

I removed the 13” air shocks on my 2010 ultra and replaced the with 13” premium shocks of a 2018 ultra and the did improve the ride

I removed the 12" hand adjustable shocks on my 18 RG and installed 13" air shocks with the fluid replaced with 10 WT shock oil. It still rides like a lumber wagon no matter what the air pressure is. This winter I'm gonna put on some brand of shock better than progressives. I Had progressives before and was not impressed. Hopefully I can get a shock that has sag, rebound and compression adjustment on it. I've been looking but so many options with no clear cut winner. I wish I could ride all of them and let my back and butt decide.

I'm the same way, the stock "new" version shocks seem stiff. I'm 215 lbs and with the hand adjustment set at the softest, the is no sag (compression) when I sit on the bike. Does OK on mild bumps, but anything more than a small bump is just a sharp shock thru my seat. You did not like Progressive, why ? What else is there to try in an affordable price ? Thanks all for your comments.

I would look into Bitubo. They will be able to get you set up with a softer spring and have an adjustable damping control. They are priced right depending on where you get them.

Get you a set of Ohlins and be done with it, I’ve been through many brands and could have saved money had I bought Ohlins first
