Missing bolt on SHift Linkage

If I read the OP correctly, it is the arm on the shaft that goes into the transmission that is stripped. That shaft is made of much harder material than the arm so unless you are extremely unlucky, the shaft splines should be quite usable and only the arm needs to be replaced.. With proper torque on the new bolt, locktite, and reasonable shifting technique, the new arm should give no further trouble. All of the arms in my shift linkage needed to be tightened at the 1000 mile check. They have been trouble free in 96,000+ miles now.

I took it to mean the one at the front of the primary! But no matter, I carry the rearward shift lever and bolt also in the saddlebag with the tools to replace it. No, on 2009 and up you don't need to remove the inner primary to replace the rearward lever!
