I rode both before i bought. Its the same bike for the most part. I actually hated the rg at highway speed. Im on a limited, it keeps the wind off my chest better and the gages are up where i like them.

Can I ask why you hated it at highway speeds?

I’d like to know also. At 75/80, hell even 90 it’s the smoothest ride I’ve ever had.
I don’t even know if I’m going to change the shield or not for sure it’s so good.

Salesman begged me to take out a cvo roadglide before buying my 2019 cvo sg, I could not get over the look of the RG, that front end is just, well......ugly I guess is the word LoL(my opinion of course) but to please him, I did take it out. Like others have said, you normally know after riding both. I knew within 5 mins into the ride that I did not like the RG at all. It's all personal preference and what you want to spend your hard earned money on, for me, that was a 2019 CVO SG. The RG is just an odd looking bike to me, again no offense to RG guys, just my opinion.

back in the day, we called them 'fugly' and were damn proud to be the few on them. now it seems like everybody and their brother has one.

I still think they are "Fugly". Havn't ridden one, but I can guess they may be a little better handeling, but just can't get past the looks. If they hadn't tried to make it stealthier looking and did not screw up the headlight, maybe they would not be so "Fugly".

Apparently most go with the RG, be different and get the SG.

The buffetting was terrible and passing trucks pushed the bike all over. Not the forks, but the whole bike. Even in the open with no one around the wind by itself pushed it around just trying to cut through the air. I dont get that at all with the limited. It was like the whole bike was being wind whipped. That was a 2013 ultra. I took a 16 out for a spin too at a different dealer a couple years later. Same crap with the buffeting. It went down the road better but i got beat up pretty bad. Ive had my limited over 100 and its fine.

I agree with the wind pushes the bike instead of the fairing but I also feel that is more predictable, for me anyway. I loved my SG, they’re great bikes.
I always thought the RG was fugly too..

Ya i mean everyone likes different things. I feel like with the fairing connected to the front of the bike and bars and me, i know where its going. The rg i just felt like it was going....somewhere, stopping sometime. I really wanted to like the 13, it was a dark blue metallic and was gorgeous. Its not that i thought it was ugly and needed converted, i went in planning on buying after a short spin to check it over mechanically.

The batwing also puts the fairing square in front of your body mass and arms. Theres wind, but i dont take it all straight to the chest. Id never knock anyone for getting a rg, its what works better for the rider.
