The buffetting was terrible and passing trucks pushed the bike all over. Not the forks, but the whole bike. Even in the open with no one around the wind by itself pushed it around just trying to cut through the air. I dont get that at all with the limited. It was like the whole bike was being wind whipped. That was a 2013 ultra. I took a 16 out for a spin too at a different dealer a couple years later. Same crap with the buffeting. It went down the road better but i got beat up pretty bad. Ive had my limited over 100 and its fine.
So if understand you correctly the bike was not a Road glide, but an Ultra which has the bat wing fairing.
Went from a 2011 RK to a 19 Ultra. I have a lot of friends that ride Road Glides. The looks just don't do it for me. Looks like a sport bike on steroids.
Can't get used to the frame mounted fairing.
Why do you say it sucks worse then the previous ones?

After 15 years of riding metrics I faced this same question, rode both and still bought the wrong one. I am now happily on '19 RG Standard. To me the big difference is the frame mounted fairing which makes it easier to handle in my opinion and is just a different ride. But I will say I did like my SGS before I traded it.
back in the day, we called them 'fugly' and were damn proud to be the few on them. now it seems like everybody and their brother has one.

This is a debate that never ends. I heard a long time H-D salesman sum it up pretty good. SG is for the shorter rider and the RG is for the taller rider. If you really think about it that is pretty deep. Shorter folks usually find the Road Glide to feel much front end heavier than the Street Glide and sit higher with a much longer bar reach than the Street Glide. Taller riders feel more comfortable on the Road Glide as it is obviously more suited to their build. Yes, I am sure there are folks 710 that love the Street Glide and folks 51 that love the Road Glide but the average rider is the norm. Really, it is personal preference, as so many things in life truly are.
