Hello All,
A newbie question, I'm looking at a kit that converts your rear turn signals into running/brake lights. Whats the difficulty level on installing this kit ? It appears pretty simple, change your rear turn signal lens from orange to the red one's supplied with the kit. There's also a connector that appears to plug inline (somewhere). Where do you find the connection to plug the connector inline ? Any help would be appreciated. Oh yes, I almost forgot, this will be going on an 06 FLHT/I.

harley makes one but its just turn and brake. not running. works well, just plugs in. kuryakan makes some that do all three, had one on my sporty but it bit the dust.
The little module that comes with the kit plugs in under your seat. Takes all of 2 minutes to install the entire kit and WELL worth it. The more red lights that come on when I stop the better!
Very simple installation, under seat. HD also makes license plate holder, that bolts on easily and gives an additional two more red lights in rear. Kurakyan makes a plug in setup, also goes under seat. Not only turns taillights to running lights, but brake and turn signals. Also gives an extra flash, when brakes applied. Makes cagers wake up behind you.
It should be an easy plug and should come with inst... I hav been a FireFighter for over 32 years - I have learned - one of the best things you can do to upgrade your ride and make it safer out on the streets is to be SEEN from the rear.... what you are doing is a step in the right direction. I chose http://www.kuryakyn.com/category.asp...ing&sn=Panacea - I will say that this route is not cheap but when you touch the brake - the {dance of tail lights} is impressive and gets peoples attention.. And thats the point...
I too have been looking at both the Panacea and the standard LED lights from Kuryakyn but have heard conflicting stories in regards to the actual brightness of LED lamps, such as the visibilty of them from different angles, over stock lamps. I'm curious to get your input in regards to the comparison between stock and an LED setup.
I have the Panacea LED replacement taillight on my StreetGlide. It is easily twice as bright (if not more) then stock and that is running a side-by-side comparison with another EG in bright daylight. At night I walked a 180 degree semi-circle around the back of my bike at a distance of about 20 feet either side. While the LED's were the brightest from directly behind to maybe 5 feet left/right, they were still bright and visible the entire 180 degree semi-circle. Hope that helps.
I agree with RCS - they are great - no problems at all and they have a three year warranty... Just pricey,,, but very cool... I have had several people pull up to me and say "what the hell are you running back there" it really gets attention... if you are in stop and go traffic, it can actually be some what annoying from behind... each time you touch the brake (either hand or foot) the rear set up flashes for (I think is 2 sec) then burns steady.. Keep in mind, the center burns solid as the surrounding flashes - this will keep you legal.. I have run them for almost three years and never a problem at all .... and Like I said... being a Firefighter, I have seen the problems bikers can get into on the road - NOT Being seen while stopped to make a turn is a BAD thing... So any thing I can do to make "Fred and Ethel" see me, I will do....
