Just kidding with you. You should see the bottom of mine, I got rust protection big time under there.I had a 2009 Road King before the one I have now that the kickstand spring went absent on for whatever reason. I bought one to replace it and another in case it happened again.
The exact reason I always carry bungee straps for when the spring does drop off the bungee strap comes in handy in a pinch. And yes one did come off on my old FXD that I had for 19 yrs and a bungee strap did the job of keeping it up.

Thanks for the pix! I had to bend the hook a bit to get it in the frame hole.
I guess I was having a brain fart or lack of Hops. [ been 35 days without drinking along with my Lady]
Anyway sort of a funny story, Prior to our Yellowstone trip last month I was reading here about carrying a spare kick stand spring. In 47 years riding HD [ pan and shovels] I have never broke one. I've replaced them for rust, or stretching but never broke one. Anyway, I picked one up and threw it in the saddle bag for the trip. Bike gets home and the KS spring is missing. Hmmm.
MJGord51,
My drinking got so bad ....well you know the story ending. On my own I gave up drinking back in 1984 and picked it up in 2010 with just maybe one bear a year, now I'm up to two a year. Just couldn't see having a foggy brain and missing out in seeing my two daughters grow up. Now we have four Grandkid's and I have started back drinking again......wait for it......wait for it......Just Kidding on the starting back drinking.
All kidding around not drinking like I use to doesn't bother me a bit. Keep up the good work (35 days) and before you know it it will be years down the road and you will look back and say it wasn't that bad quitting. Just to show you and anyone else reading this I quit using Heroin cold turkey from using it for five years. Let me tell you it was h e ! ! but its worth it.

I'm not a everyday drinker anymore so quitting in support of the OL hasn't been that bad. For me it's more a taste thing. She needed to slow it down, way down.
I know the people that grow chardonnay grapes are feeling it in the wallet by now. lol
