Got the stretched bags and fender on my 07 road king . Options going forward.
1. Leave the tank the way it is with the blue line
2. Do tank shrouds all black
3. Get my current tank re painted.
4. Find a used tank in mint condition in vivid black.
5. Get my stretched bags pin striped to match the tank
open to all ideas, been learning toward the shrouds. Apparently finding a pin striper in NY is rare. Thanks for taking the time . Here are some pics.
6. Get some matching pin stripe an put an accent stripe on the hinge covers to add a little matching accent...being the cheapest/easiest option an not hard to remove if it doesn't look good.
Leave it alone for a while and the answers will come to you before too long. Of course you can always lend us your credit cards and we'll return your bike when we've done with it....
Pinstripe it! lol
When I added stretched bags I took my bags over and got a guy to do them before I even put them on. Dropped them off in the morning and picked them up that same evening. I just had him use the same "pattern" as the stock bags had. He was able to match the factory stripe perfectly, and they still look great. But its a personal preferences kind of thing, and I wanted them to match the rest of the bike... plus it kinda broke up all that black.
Any good custom paint/auto body shop should be able to do pinstripes.
I had to have a front fender painted. Took it to the paint guy that does my buddies classic cars. He prepped the fender, painted it two colors and pinstriped it to match the bike. All for $250 so I cannot believe it would cost all that much for just pinstripes.
Or, you could wait and go to one of the larger rallies. There are almost always pinstripers at them.
