We are going to do a bagger next week with dual 360's on the front, and I tell you if we have one little baby hiccup......I think I'm done...mabye they just went to market to soon....not sure. The ones I have done...stop pretty well.....and they look so damn good.......I realllllllly want them to work. I did talk to Mr. Wilson of the Baldwin Wilson Corp, and he will step up and make things right, every time so far. I have another going on a forum member's new set of forge tec wheels and I am about to just pull the plug on that, I just dont need the headaches. You guys have been so so good to me on this forum, I just dont ever want to lead anybody in the wrong direction except ByranTTM......he is used to it.....lol....just joking my Texas buddy, and R&D companion. I almost have the air bag worked out for your street glide, but you will have to do extensive testing......gotta a helmet?
AARRGGGG Man Fish I don't even have my bike off the lift yet, and I am wondering if I should switch over the the PM set up and just send this thing back?????
I know that you and Bryan have had your issues, but how many other people are running these with no issues at all???? I have looked all over the web and this forum seems to be the only one that talks much about them with any real experience.
Jeff
Jeff,
Sorry man..When I first posted this thread Iknew it might steer some people away from it, or at least make them second guess using it, and I was a little conflicted about posting, but as I said in the original post, if it deals with safety ( and I felt it did) then I should put it out there. I don't know too much about chrome...maybe the excessive heat that caused my pads to fail, caused the chrome to peel.. or maybe it was just a bad dip..I don't know... I think Bryan is on it when he says the baggers might just be too much for the brake..at least in a single application... And I too think they'll get it right... I'm interested in how the dual turns out.. Keep us updated Bart And Jeff, please let us know what you decide and how it works for out for you...
Fish, if you want send it back and I will credit you something on it....how is that for fair.
Shooter,
i gotta say, after reading this thread since day one, you've gone FAR beyond what anyone could expect from a business owner... I've not yet gotten into mods yet, but I can assure you, when the time comes, you're certainly gonna be hearing from me... I hope others find this thread and see how you've handled this situation, with the utmost professionalism and courtesy BIG THUMBS UP!!!!! [sm=icon_cheers.gif] people like you give the aftermarket a good name... lotsa luck to ya in the future!!!!
Hey I am new to this fourm but I have a 360 brake and have had chrome peeling issues and just replaced the brake pads at 7000 miles on the unit. Talked to the guys at baldwin wilson recently and they have no units on the shelf and have just done a major reorganization. I was also told that the spacer in my wheel which has a 3/4 axle shoule have an inch od and 3/4 id dimensions which is not my current spacer. My current spacer was my originaal machined down to fit. I am still waiting on the replacement unit and its been at least 3 months. I told them that I would send the old unit back when I got the new unit to replace it. Sucks that they are using the general population as their R&D. seems dangerous at the least. New pads work great but unit looks like ****.
I was doing some research on the 360 brake and found several things that really make me glad I didn't go for it yet. A good thing was finding this forum and the posts here about it. You may also want to check out the thread below at the Bigdog site where 360 told the guy he was using the wrong brake fluid. I hope you guys that have these brakes are able to solve the problems.
And BTW Shooter64 where is your shop?
Russellville, AR and I cant belive they dont have the stuff in stock, call Darius at Grandeur Cycles and see what he has on the shelf, he can probably help.
Jeff, did everything work out for you? If not, let me know since you are local and all. Also, I have been keeping in close contact with 360 brake. They have finally found a new investor to come in and restructure the company. It was run by poor management, which is why there has been such a lack in customer service lately. They know about the overheating issues and are in the process of re-designing the brakes. Hopefully they do enough testing this time before they release it. It is a shame that they went through all this mess. Hopefully everything works out for everyone. We are a dealer for them and will keep yall posted on any news. Let me know if yall have any questions. I'll try my best to help. Good luck!
