The dull strip around and behind the bleeder the chrome just stripped off. That is all supposed to be shinny chrome.
Bart,
I understand problems with chrome, my brother has a chroming line. I just wanted to point out a problem I had with the product. This is going to boil down to how they handle it in customer service.
Bart,
Based on the exploded view descriptions on the 360 brake web site. The rotor hat is the part that has the vents cut in them. The part that is flaking is the actual caliper. I already recieved an email back from Jerry at HogPro and he told me to give them a call on Monday and that they would take care of it.
Jeff,
What material did they make your spacer out of? Do you have any better pics of it... We think mine was cut out of aluminum?? Does that make sense?? Sounds like HogPro is on it... Let us know... As stated earlier I have not heard from 360... The only guy I trust to work on my bike right now is leaving for a month on Wed. afternoon... I think I might be going back to stock or doing a caliper/rotor set-up while I get this sorted out...
Fish,
They were machined from stainless. I will take close ups on the bike and send them to and when I pull the wheel to replace the caliper housing I will take more and send them as well. I mocked up the wheel and took measurements then measured the spacers they (HogPro) sent and they were dead on, so the talk about not being able to mock up on one bike and install on another may be a bit off. Or I may have just gotten lucky there. Anyway the install went prefect looks like I may have just gotten a bad dip. I can say one thing about this brake. I would not want to bleed it with out a pump. It was not fun even with the pump. I will be getting the rest of my parts in next week so hopefully I will have the bike back on the road then and can test drive.
5 days and STILL no word from the 360 guys... Gotta tell ya I'm really disappointed. My guy leaves Wed. he's gotta change his tires and has a leak in his primary... So I'm more or less outta time...Gonna go pick my bike up on a trailer tomorrow. I'm hesitant to bring it back to the initial installer but it looks like thats whats gonna have to happen.. If and I guess thats a big if my spacer was off, then he's the guy who originally did it and I'm screwed.. If it was the piston and they send me another set-up which hasn't happened yet... I guess I'd be OK, but noone knows whats caused thebrake pads to fail in the first placeso... how do you fix it???
Since I hadn't heard from 360 I went ahead and ordered a matching rotor and hub replacement last Friday. Renegade said they would have to me by today and sure enough it was there... Only problem was I got a dual disc hub and needed a single.. No sense stickin that hub on, defeats the whole purpose... NO FAULT OF RENEGADE WHATSOEVER!!! They had it here super fast, I just wasn't clear enough when I ordered... I said "left side only" and i shoulda said single disc.. My bad all the way...
I think right now I'm gonna contact Renegade.. get the correct hub and go Single Disc and shelve the 360...
Whiuch sucks, cause its gonna cost me another G. [:@]and I really liked the 360..
Fish....pm me tomorrow and I will get Phillips and myself back on the phone to 360.....I just checked...and didnt have a pm from you, so I assumed all was well, my bad, I will call them first thing in the morning......I am telling you, I will help you with this, whatever I got to do, but if they dont man up here.....I am done with them.
Thanks Bart... You been great... Since I've been dealin directly with them I figured I'd just handle it...But it looks like I might need your "weight" to help me out...
Again, not really knowing what caused the problem makes it hard to determine what needs to be done to remedy it... How can they tell if it was the piston or the spacer? Hopefully some answers tomorrow...
Damn Fish. I feel horrible for what you are going through. I wish I was closer, I'd be happy to get my hands dirty with you and get that thing back on the road. We all know Bart will take care of you. If you end up having to use that dual flange hub, I have a right side stock rotor you can have for free if you need it. Don't know what lese I can offer, but wishing your ride luck on a speedy recovery.
Man Fish,
That sucks. I am not sure why 360 has not helped you out yet. Are they returning your calls, or emails? What was the last thing theytold you? I would get Bart to help you out and see if he can put some pressure on them.
