Yes...it's pipe...not pvc.....but you know, we talked about a delrin spacer yesterday......pros and cons....kicked it around.....they are hestitant to change alot, cause it's not like we are running a 70% failure rate, and more like less than 1%, it is an install issue, and I think that a video will go a long ways towards helping everyone understand how to measure the spacer needed in the first place. It's not rocket science....just different that what we are all used to.....kinda like DTT and thundermax software, first time I saw the software for both units.....I was like...this is so going to suck....I can do the TMAX in my sleep now almost.
Thanks for the kind words....and again Fish, for being a great gracious customer, and to BryanTTM for being a guinea pig......we will get Fish going....and hopefully 360 will get the video done.....and we can move forward....to riding our cool looking scoots around.
Thanks to all for the kind words for my partner that many of you PM'ed me. He is on his way home this morning....wide *** open....I ask the doc yesterday if he could put a modulating valve on his ticker so I could turn him down once in a while, he is about to turn 60 and works me to the ground. I cant imagine what he is going to be like now without all that blockage.......I am going to have to start running again and get my *** in shape!
WOW!! As a very interested party, Thank you fish for sending me an email referencing the thread. We have sold several of the 360 brakes without much feedback from the users/owners. Additionallu, I sure can appreciate all the time spent researching the problem by Bart. kudos...
The 360 brake is relatively new andeveryone isinterested inknowing if the average mechanic/shop can properly setup the brake. Obviously the unit is very cool looking, however; we all want our bikes to stop, consistantly and without worry of a failure. We are doing our own research into the spacer issue and will keep you up to date on our findings.
Thanks again for the insight, I'll keep up on the post..
My fault, I just assumed pvc.Didn't even register about pipe schedules.Hope you get it sorted out big guy.I must say your enthusiasm for customer service is guite impressive and I will be purchasing my parts from you in the future as well as recommending you to others.
Just a note. I spoke with Rob a HogPro today and also sent him a link to this post they also have not seen this problem from any other customers and suspect that it may have been something to do with the way this particular install went. The spacers that he made for my application were machined from stainless steel not aluminum.
I will mock up my set up this weekend and take measurements as per the 360 brake instructions and compare the measurements to the spacers provided by Rob and seen if they are in line, if not I will have another set of spacers cut. I will provide pictures and an update this weekend after I am done.
I have also sent an email to Jevon at Pickard USA a local wheel manufacture here in Dallas who is a 360 brake vendor and who turned me on to the 360 brake as they are using this brake on their custom bikes. I will let you know the outcome of this conversation as well.
Spoke to the guys at 360 yesterday as they were inspectong the brake pads I had sent them... They now want me to send the caliper in as they think the piston might not be fully disengaging therfore causing the tremendous amount of heatthat caused thosepads to fail...
They said they are gonna send me a brand new set-up regardless... So I'll be starting anew here shortly I hope. My wrench leaves for Sturgis next wednesday and is gone for a month so I hope we get the parts soon. I'm gonna call again this morning and see if I can't get them overnighted... My guy has a few bikes he's trying to get out before he goes and we didn't plan onmybike taking as long asit has..
So far dealing with everyone involved has been great... I mean OUTSTANDING...Everybodys been stand-up and straight forward which has made this processbearable... I couldn't imagine what a nightmare it coulda been if the customer service of those involved sucked!or wosre was non-existent.
