First of all, I did not dis/flame any ones product or ideas. What I said is I do not understand any of you that put a thin wall tire on a bagger. Not a thing about the 360. I am sorry that you took the post that way. I do believe the brake does look great, an yes, I have the same type of brake on my Aerostar. The end about the brake. Now to the wheel, Why a 21? My point of asking.
As far as a Harley not performing, well, a Harley will not win any races at the track against a Superbike. Will a Harley run much better, ride much better, or corner much better than stock? That is my point. again, nothing about brakes and I was writing in word when the first post above mine came up about the 6 piston. Check the time. I will be at Sturgis, with my bike & ready to let you decide for yourself just what is a waste. Much better performance and again, seeing is believing.

I forgot to respond to the 6-piston question. I do mean that no one uses 6–pistons, let me rephrase that: On the track where competition dictates who will win and that is where the choice of a 6 versas a radial mount are made. That is where we are at every weekend, that is how we make our money, setting up race bikes. As far as Hayabusa goes, they have traded the 6-pistons for radial mounts(next model). Does a six piston stop a Harley much faster than a stock caliper? We all know the answer to that one. Better performance on the track, radial mount, no question. Can or will the average rider benefit from any performance brake upgrade? The answer to that is: We should change to a better front brakes. That last 10 or so feet may mean the difference between kissing the car in front of you or not. That is my point exactly.

Different Ideas indeed. Chrome, great looks like all of the bikes shown in this post. No chrome or designs, Carbon Fiber wheel (4.6 Lb), Metal Matrix rotors (4.2 Lbs/pair), Lyndall Racing Pads, and a 36 Lb front end with 2X 4-Piston (no one uses 6 piston any longer as they are too slow to react and edgy [on/off + less rider feedback]) Radial Mount calipers. Yours looks much better than mine, care to ride over a piece of road at Sturgis (1st – 12th)? We can than discuss the ride (that is why I build my bikes the way I do) after that. I will have a FL also with both bikes fitted with the new Motorcycle Metal/Penske rear shock joint venture. No, I am not trying to sell you a damned thing. Can not understand any of ya. What exactly are you getting at Howard? It sounds like you're trying to convince Fish he should have went with a set-up like yours on the front of his bike. To prove your point, you want him to try and follow you through the black hills. When you get done dusting him through the twisties, Fish is going to be convinced you are the man and buy all those same parts you have for his bike.

Maybe you should clarify your post. This thread isn't about what I think you're trying to make it.

Howard,
I wouldn't care if that setup stood ya straight up and stopped on a dime, it is downright fugly! Now ya'll are gettin way too technical for my little brain and its past my bedtime. Anyway since it is my bike, nobody really has to 'understand' it except me. My scoot stops, handles and runs a lot better that stock and it looks purdy too!
'night yall

Howard....your front ends look like they are on backwards.....I understand the engineering prinicpals behind it......but function has to have some form doesnt it. IF I wanted something that radical looking......I would buy a confederate wrath.....but again...time permitting I will look you up in Sturgis...cause I am all about learning........just curious is there a way to accomplish the same thing....without the backwards or reverse look?

Question: Just curious is there a way to accomplish the same thing....without the backwards or reverse look?

That is how the front end/braking is designed to work. I am about the ride, no ego. As far as selling anything to any one of the above people, I had never intended to do so as everyone has his own taste and trying to preach to anyone of these guys would be like selling ice cubes to a Eskimo. I guess that if anyone asked a question, posed a new idea, or built something that did not follow the norm, than it is OK to go on the offensive? I come here to ask questions, meet people, interact, and see them at functions. I learn lots of stuff at this form and use it for my benefit.
