Default 2012 EGU/600 miles

Thinking about moving from Road King to Electra Glide. Found a 2012 Ultra on Craigslist with 600 miles on it. Would you be apprehensive. Asking $10,000

What's your apprehension? If you like it and feel the price is right, go for it. Only thing I would do is put new tires on it and go. They may look new but they are now almost 9 years old. You migjt even be able to get them to knock some off the price when you tell them it needs tires which ain't cheap. You may have some oil leaks develop later because all the seals have probably dried out. How has it been stored?

If you can, keep the King too. Nothing better than having two bikes to choose from. A Road King and an Ultra are two different rides even though they are both touring bikes. I use my Road King to commute and solo rides and have a Limited for road trips with the wife and when the wife wants to ride with me.

Apprehensive? Yes, but only because it's Craigslist. If I were considering a vehicle from Craigslist, I'd have to "see it & feel it" first. Maybe it's just me, but I'd have to think long & hard before I got a bike there. I guess people have had good luck, but lots of scammers out there, and I wouldn't trust this without being able to take it for a ride. Hope it's close enough for you to do that. Just my opinion, and remember I've never bought a vehicle from C.L.

There's a story here. 7 year old bike that hasn't been ridden! The price is a little too good to be true for a "new" old bike. If the odometer is correct, the bike should have some kind of premium on it. I would want to know how the bike has been stored all these years to avoid corrosion problems for just sitting in place year after year.

I'd be concerned that it isn't an accurate add. If it is then I'd be concerned enough to take itto a dealer for agood once over. I wouldn't be at all worried about buying a 2012 in good shape for a good price.

Seals etc would be what concern me the most.

If it wasn't on CL I'd say run right over

Since it is on CL, and if it is local, go see it, look it over, ask to see the title and purchase docs.

If it is not local RUN AWAY

If they want a deposit in order to see it, RUN AWAY.

Face to face, see bike, google the sellers name and location looking for " google trophies" a.k.a. prior arrests and such

at least on a 12 you can work on all aspects of it yourself without 3 grand in scan tools to reprogram the ECU

have it looked at by a mechanic ...even if you spend $100 getting it done. Could be a flood bike or a great deal....................

My bike was bought off CL. Local bike serviced locally with records. Heard and saw it run. PO wouldn't let me ride it, and I don't blame him, but did ride it with me following/ listening/ watching. I won't let someone else ride it when I go to sell it either but will give them a ride on the back if they wish.
Use common sense and some caution and normal due diligence and buying off CL can net you some nice finds.
For the record, I've sold several vehicles (cars, boats, trucks) on CL too. The whole common sense/ caution thing applies there too.

Agree with all of the above, BUT. It could be the real deal. I mean that's about right for 7 years; 8 bike nights, 2 dealer free hotdog "runs", one trip to Sturgis and 2 Bike Weeks (trailered of course). For a fact the wheel bearings are good
