There's a story here. 7 year old bike that hasn't been ridden! The price is a little too good to be true for a "new" old bike. If the odometer is correct, the bike should have some kind of premium on it. I would want to know how the bike has been stored all these years to avoid corrosion problems for just sitting in place year after year.
+1
I'd wonder if its been dropped and has some damage one cannot see in the pics etc. Or someone was learning to ride on it and ground the **** out of the gears.
OTOH, maybe someone just wants it gone ASAP due to a new baby or $$ for a bill etc
From the above post and the C/L add, there’s at least 6 years of dust layer on it! And original tires no less complete with weather-checking sidewalls.
someone could be liquidating an estate for a parent who got ill- hence the bike sitting. Life happens. Call and ask details, go see if possible.
I see the VIN isn't in the ad. Get the VIN, call local dealer and ask for maintenance records for that VIN? maybe that would indicate if it was in an accident etc? (as dealers log service records) see if its even had the 1k service done (most likely not). Personally, if I were buying it- I'd have a dealer do the 1k right after purchase (prob even tow it there, not ride it) and have them look it over etc. Negotiate that into the price possibly. Also new tires, brake flush, etc. This assumes there's not a fatal flaw disclosed by the seller of course.
