I installed the "Back Off" brake flasher and it works great but now my cruise control won't engage. It's under the seat after the relay.
1993 Ultra with a three brake light set-up. Two on the tour pak on below.
Any thoughts?
I was enterested in getting the back off till I seen the link above. It says 2002 or later cruise wouldnt engage. I seen you said yours was '93. There is a Back Off XP that dosent say anything about cruise interference.
I also was wondering how a unit hooked up in the back of the bike would effect the cruise control in the front of the bike.
I had a Back Off module in my 97 Ultra and have one(Wiw-Wag) on my 05 Ultra. Both work fine with cruise control. Mine only work the two lights in the tour pack not the one in the rear fender. Module is in the tour pack not under the seat. Maybe that is why I never had any problems. Hope that helps!
I believe the issue is that the brake light activation is what controls the engagement of the cruise control....e.g. when you engage either or both brakes, the brake light activiates and shuts down the cruise control.

Thanks for the info. I have the back-off on my Dyna and am planning on putting one on the Ultra as well. It looks like the Wig-Wag mounted in the tour pack is the way to go.
I had the problem with my cruise also. I have an 07 UC. I found the rear tail light was not coming on when I applied the brakes. One I fixed that the cruise began to work fine. Not sure why the light wasn't working but I tool the lens off and moved some of the wires around and everything started to work again.

That's interesting and may be worth trying. If I get the top two flashing it should be good enough.
Is there one wire that goes to both lights?
