I don't know how long they will be offering any new updates for the 6.5 Boom Box, now that the 2019 Boom Box GTS has come out AND it's now backwards compatible....
In any case, updating the 6.5 boom box isn't hard to do....
i think what he is getting at is the map update. he doesn't want to buy one with a map installed, when next month a new map update comes out and he has to pay $150 to update his.
and to answer your question, i have no idea when they come out. seems like early in the year. whenever it is, they are usually still a year or two behind. if you get the 6.5 gts, you could always use CarPlay and not worry about the navi extras map updates....
I agree.....IF he's taking about a "software" update, those come out during the course of the year and are FREE.......IF he's talking about a "navigation map update" then as you wrote, those are at least 1 to 2 years "old" and they are NOT FREE (I believe about $150). Personally, I don't update my maps because for 90% of my riding is in areas where most roads haven't changed much......and IF they do, that adds to the "adventure".
yes im talking about the map update only , i think it shows 2020 , but i find that hard to believe
Not sure what evidence to show its not 2020. I bought a new bike this year, the map is My 2020. Would not make sense for that map not being available to prior year bikes.
The current map on H-D.com says Jun 21 2019. I would assume the model year 2021 would come out about the same time.
Edit - the 65. GT model says Jan 16, so I would wait until after January.
