I haven’t read the entire thread. But consider that 10s of thousands of Harley riders have upgraded to the M8s for various reasons, you know what the new features are, so only you can decide if it’s worth it to you,

If you feel compelled to have the newest model that's a race that never ends? Every year, bigger, newer, and fancier will be available. When will it end for you? If you are compelled I'd still keep the '12 with all the time, memories, and miles you have on it. Besides how much are they even giving for a trade in on it? Just best to keep it and have two bikes.

Also looks like you've added even more since we last spoke? Some Advan Black parts? I'd throw that FM107 in there and have at it! Also with the newer bikes is it even possible to wrench them yourself?

I am currently on a 2014 SGS Rushmore. Been a great bike, have about 29K miles on it. Has never let me down, other than some initial HD recalls. That being said, it is paid off, which unto itself is important to me. For me, I do not need the next new thing. This bike has plenty of life left in it, so personally for me I have no desire to trade it. The 103 in this vintage is deadly figured out, and highly reliable scoot. Prior bike was a 2008 SG. I put 69K on that bike. Same thing deadly reliable. Only reason I went over to the Rushmore, is there was enough improvements in 14 to justify the trade, as I got the 14 for half price after the 08 trade. So for $12.5 I was on a brand new one with allot of important changes that mattered to me at that time.

Overpriced, sure. The new oil pump model seems to have cured the sumping issues that plagued certain bikes between '17 and early '19. The primary fluid transfer problem on certain touring machines seems to have also been addressed with the vent kit.

I post this for the latest information, not to start a pissing match with you.

No pressure what so ever. If a model 2000 bike is old I guess my Evo is ancient. When I think of an old bike I definitely don't think of a twinky. More in the lines of a Pan or Shovel.

Six of my riding buddies are all on Rushmores or 2010ą. All six are on their second and third bikes since I started riding with them seven years ago. They constantly wonder when I'm going to upgrade. I just tell that upgrading is for people who bought the wrong bike in the first place.

I was poking around the dealership and a salesman tried to sell me everything in sight. He asked me what I rode and I told him an EVO Road King. So then he asks me if I'm looking to upgrade? I just laughed.

How do you upgrade from an EVO Road King?

I'm very happy with my 13 ultra, not even thinking of a new bike, before that had an 08 ultra till it got totalled so was forced to buy the 13.
