Default Primary Chain problem??

When I bought my 06 ultra last year, it ran as if it was in a bind. Dealer done 1k service, still the same. Took it to another dealer at 1800 miles and they loosened the primary chain. 2 mechanics said it was way too tight. Now at 15k the bike was in the local dealer and they loosened the chain again, said it was way too tight. Bike runs freer and quieter. What gives??? It looks like a manual adj.setup. Dan

Default RE: Primary Chain problem??

The 06's do have the manual adjustment on them. Usually they should be checked for adjustment at the recommended service intervals. The 07's came with the automatic adjuster shoe in them so you don't have to do a manual adjustment. If this remains to be a problem for you you can retrofit one of the automatic adjusters. The cost of the adjuster in the dealers catalog is $99.
