Don't waste your money on that micro swirl edging. I got it a while back and it did nothing. Plus it's ugly and puts a big black rubber line through your line of vision. I know some sport bike guys who swear by it, but just does not seem to work on cruisers.

I wasn't getting the buffetting, butI was getting ashes from the smokes in my face while riding.

Three Bolts, some blue permetex, and ten minutes

Chrome Front Fork Air Baffle

Deflect the cold night wind rushing between the fork tubes of your Touring model. This stylish chrome air baffle replaces the Original Equipment black baffle on '00-earlier models. Includes chrome mounting hardware.
58520-79TC

Fits '80-later FLT/FLHT/FLHX/FLHR models.

MSRP US $22.95
And most of the time I ride with a ballcap and I don't wear aballcaps backwards.
At 70 on the highway ballcap rides just fine.

Anyone know yet if it helps (or hurts)heat stuff with an'07 FLHR? It might actually help if it re-directs air flow down over the fins.
Harley installed those deflectors stock in Black up until 02 or 03, but then stopped, and put out a notice to remove them if you were experiancing heat problems.
I have had mine on the 06 Ultra since last summer, and it has not caused any extra heat, or reduced it any that I can tell.
But it did stop the air over the tank that then runs up the front of your torso.

I'm telling you guys that are getting the buffeting, For 20 bucks throw that fork baffle on, you will be surprised how much it helps.[sm=closed.gif]

I put the fork baffle on mine and love it. I had several issues. Too tall windshield ( fastaire 8" solved that). Glasses and helmet bouncing up and down. The fork baffle solved that. As I said earlier if you take your left hand and put it near the front of the tank at cruising speeds you will feel a lot of wind.

There seems to be no single answer to the problem. Just deal with the sources one by one. The air baffle is cheap and cannot hurt the engine temp problem. It might improve it, but no way to tell. It's cheap and worth a try.

Windshield height is another problem. Many say the windshiled should just reach to the tip of your nose. You can cut your shield down, or do like me and buy a Fastaire for $25 and try it.

Listen to FLHT

From many posts long ago, I put a fastaire (tinted with recurve) 8" and a baffle on my 07 Ultra.

The baffle does the most. The fastaire I use for around town and the 12" for trips.
