Your mind is made ,youve heard some of the good and the bad. Go get your roadglide. I didnt completly hate mine, it was fast as hell , stable at 110 and all. It just wasn't me. If you get a 08, you get black and chrome motor instead of the silver and black wheels. That would make that black rg look so much sweeter. I have that new Harley 9 inch light smoked windshield and a new rubber gasket at a good price if you need it, only on bike 2 days when I pulled it and traded.
The 08 is out of the question. I would never get the deal I am getting, or the interest rate.
As far as the windshield I may be in touch if I go through with it. BTW what is the stock windshield height?? I can see over the stock one but notice right at the top when I look through it, it distorts.

Check out clearview.com for shields. It seems a lot of people change them out for aftermarket ones. I have heard good things about them too. It is on my list of things to spend money on.
the thing that make me didnt buy RG is THE LOOKs!!!
i still cant accept the RG look.....
love my 06 SG....looks a lot better than RG....and have a good handling....
Yeah look at this!!! BAD to the Bone my friend.
Twisties are "different" with a RG. You almost have to learn to ride a motorcycle again to get on another bike.
So once a Road Glide always a Road Glide huh???
I guess it is the natural progression.
Road King to a Street Glide to a Road Glide
Damn between you guys, the dealer and now my wife. Everyone saying go for it.
Twisties, wisties who cares, get into the curve gas it coming out...feels like nothing but pure freedom. I did the Hollister run in one day. 600 miles from doorstep and back. Cruise controlled at 80 up and down the lovely California highway 101. Come on. Did ya get it yet? Did ya get it yet.I can tell you, if you dont, you will kick yerself in the behind everytime you see one. You know you want it! Pull the trigger and twist the throttle!

nice RG.....
but im sorry....for me...the nose fairing of RG....uuuggghhh....still cant accept that.....sorry....but its a personal taste of me.....please dont care about me....
ORIGINAL: Monstermile So now it is decision time. Do I go with the 07 RG. Do I keep the SG and spend around $4K for fairing conversion
Hmmmmm [sm=confused06.gif]
When you get out on the hiway and set that "cruise control" and kick yer boots up...thats when you know yer "Roadglidin". Narrow your figure by selling high (private party) and buying low (private party).
Ok here is another question (or two) for you RG vets. Does the fairing and windshield provide good protection against the elements and bugs. I have become spoiled with the batwing fairing. In over a year only one bug has made it through the windtunnel. Will that be the same with the RG???
And on the subject of windshields. How tall is the stock windshield and how low can you go and still get decent protection and deflection. I can see over the stock shield by a few inches but it distorts at the lip. I'd want to go lower, to get rid of the distortion and to improve the looks, but still have everything go up and over. Just need to know what size I should consider.
Oh and do the clearview windshields for the RG have the recurve???
BTW I run an 8" on my SG an that provieds plenty of protection for me.
I have 3 Shields 2 Contoured 8"1Light Smoke and the other Black thenI have the Stock Shield. Even thouI go at 6'3 I love the 8" even thou it doesn't block everything but it still gives me adaquate protection
