What a way to start the day. Man there are some fine bikes on this thread. Kern, I've never been a fan of the Cobalt blue on the SG because it just (to me) was too much blue. that being said, yours is really sweet, just the right amount of added chrome to make it balance out. The rims, the saddlebag latches, the passing lamps and the kuryakyn frame cover make a huge difference IMO.
Too many other sweet rides to coment on them all except to say I'm drooling.
The Fatcats look awsome don't they.
Get ready to buy new rain gear....I have ruined 2 on this pipe as I didn't bother to buy the gear with the anti-melt protection built it on the r leg...Harley makes some rainpants that has it quite a ways up the inseam of both legs( 80 bucks for the pants I think) and what a PIA to get the gear off those pipes...
Regardless, wouldn't change them for anything. Love my Fatties....
MUC Awesome new sig....time for me to work on one.
What can I expect this pipe to sound like with a good engine build? Not talking a patched up build either, looking at a GMR or HQ's package. You know, parts that compliment each other.
I have a GMR 107" build with Herc Jugs, Forged Pistons, R&R Heads, S&S Gear Drive Cams, HP Throttle Body, and the D&D Fatty. It has a wicked sounding idle (loud) and it barks nicely as you wick the throttle. Down shifts are nasty sounding and everyone hears me coming at the lights ahead cause I always see them turning around. No tickets yet, and I can always keep the sound respectable when the cops are cruising along side of me. Here's a link to a recent video I made, and it has a sound clip of the bike running from a stop sign in the beginning section.
