I seriously need one of those Gremlin Bells. I don't have any riding buddies yet here in PA so I do without for now. They only work if someone else gives ya one right???

Yes they are supposed to be given to you by a loved one or a fellow rider. The myth behind it is that you put it as close to the ground as possible on the bike and when the road gremlins try to get on your bike from the roadway the ringing from the bell drives them nuts and knocks them off so they cannot do any damage (i.e. mechanical breakdowns, accidents, etc.)

Today we were riding through the hay fields west of Parowan, Utah, and a deer was in the field eating fresh mown hay. We startled it and it ran alongside of us about 50 feet away. We slowed way down wary of what it may do and sure enough, it cut across the road in front of us, and ran through a ditch and then cleared a five foot high barbed wire fence, running out through the brush. Cool, huh?
