Hope I got the right forum this time,, anyways Road king police special about 3 months ago I parked bike at a drink stop jumped on an hour or so later and not start,, the only thing I did different was not stop in nuteral,, gave the starter a bit of tap and seemed to go OK,, have tried this several times now, and same result,, any ideas,? Is this likely to get worse over time?
Thanks for answers in advance guts and girls
So you tapped on starter and it started? It's not going to fix itself
I would make sure cable is tight. Probably replace starter clutch if not loose. Best case is start trouble shooting with meter when it doesn't start.
nice thing with 07 is don't have to open primary to change starter. I use long Allen socket and pull them both from right side. Though I got 2-1 exhaust.

You probably want to replace that starter. I have an 07 RKC and I am sure things will need replacing. Just replaced the brake pressure switch.
Nipondenso starter is famous for burning the contacts and plunger. Little awkward getting in there, to replace them. But many times just cleaning them will take care of it.
