Default Lead time on a Tour Pack

Just ordered King Tour Pak for my Black Cherry R/G..Dearler says 8 to 12 week cause of the color. Is Black Cherry that uncommon of a color...I don't think so. Any one know why it would take 3 months to get it? Hell that would be in Oct sometime

I ordered one for my FLHT, was told 3-4wks was standard wait. It arrived 3wks exactly. I was informed that some dealers give higher estimate so there won't be complaints since they take so long. Gotta be painted at York plant and shipped out.

Your into a new production year and Black Cherry is no longer a standard color for any touring model any more... I'm and insurance appraiser and deal with nothing but motorcycles..... And I run into this problem all the time... 4 weeks is about avg "IF" they have it on hand... If not it is not uncommond to wait upto 12 weeks or more to get a color matched product from HD...

Back in the beginning of 06' i ordered a king tour pak color matched
"birch white"through zanotti's 21 days from time i ordered till it was sitting on my porch, zanotti's told me 6-8 weeks was about the norm, but it might be 8-12 depending on demand, and what colors were being painted at that time (i took that to mean they do so many in one color, then another color and another color, thus being the reason for the wait, till that color cycled around again ,)

I ordered a SG TourPak between Christmas & new years through MandM. Got it in about 3 1/2 weeks. But mine was a current year color, Deep Colbalt.

They tell you that long because it can BE that long depending on what sequence your color is shot in.... most of the time it takes less unless you hit it wrong and are last.

I ordered a factory Roadglide fairing painted in Aztec Orange from 2000, I figured it would be 6 months, they said 6 weeks, it took 7 weeks, it looks great.
