Finally stopped raining this afternoon so I took off to the local MoCo dealer for a ride. Visited with a sales rep about a trading my 05 Ultrafor an 08 RKC. My Ultra has 14500 miles on it, etc. Anyway, the dude comes out and sales " What a deal I have for you!" Really, he did. $5000 and your bike for the 08.
Nope too much. He said what are you thinking and I said lot less than that. I told him I would do a stage 1, new pipes, buy the $900 Tour Pak, and upgrade to ABS. He left and came back saying $4500.
Going to KC tomorrow to another dealer and we'll see what they say there.
Sadly, an 05 Ultra is only worth about 12500 tops in a trade, don't shoot me, I'm just a messenger. Miles and extras don't mean a thing to a dealer, The 07 96 Inch & six speed KILEED the Moco's used market, Hell, I have an 06 Streetglide, it's onlty worth 12500 on a trade. SO I feel your pain.
Those offers are not outof line. You can always sell for 12-2000.00 more than a dealer will pay. The dealer is usually only going to give you rough or clean book which is about 3-4 thousand below retail.
