I installed the HD Air Horn last year and I credit it with preventing a couple of cars from turning into me. Glad I bought it.

I had the HD air horn befoer I switched to the mini beast. Maybe I got a bad horn or something but the HD horn sounded like a sick cow. I's laying on the workbench where I tossed it.

The mini beast would be the way to go. I like the cleaner look of this horn compared to the trumpet style. The cover and the ablity to mount it in place of the stock horn would be worth the extra $65.00 to me over just the horn unit.

Friend of mine just put one of these on his Kawasaki, loudest horn I've heard yet ( I haven't heard 'em all ).. Much louder than my Rivco dual air horn, and about 25% of the cost. But the air horns are better than stock and I like the retro look, they fit well on a RC Classic.

This thread is making me horny!

Seriously though - I think the use of the horn is another one of those unwritten HD taboos...like you're supposed to refrain from using it if at all possible or you won't be cool...I use mine all the time & don't give a rat's *** what anyone else thinks. It's the stock one - but it's plenty loud & get's attention when I need it to.

Of course, I only use it lawfully (in Ohio: No person shall use the horn of a motor vehicle except to give warning to other drivers or pedestrians & it must be audible at a distance of not less than 200 feet under normal conditions) - and instead pop the throttle to get the attention of the hotties nearby (like my one buddy says - its like Pavlov's Dog; give the throttle aquick twist- and you'll darn near see a hot blonde give herself whiplash when she turns to check you out!)
