Has everyone found things to do? I started with my 2009 Electra Glide classic, bought some used stock mufflers and punched out the pinch tubes, bought used SE-255 ($150) cams and installed w/o adj push rods. Down loaded a canned tune from the street tuner, added LED bag lights to saddle bags. Then ordered a Arlen Ness big sucker ($130) and street tune ($195) for the 2019 Ultra Limited, bought a used set of stock mufflers for $50.00 and punched out the pinch tubes again. Added the stage 1 tune from second street tuner and stage 1 done on the 2019 and stage 2 done on the 2009. Spent around $700.00 for the two bikes and kept myself in the garage and maintaining my sanity. Now I find myself with foot drop on my left side caused by stenosis and DDD, shifting only achieved by heel/toe shifter off floor board (not good). Next project is installing the Pingel electric shift kit (#77903H) on the 2019. Hoping to find all fellow riders able to keep busy during this invisible enemy Covid-19.
I heard a Dr. on TV say we should use this time to finish things we started and well have more calm in our lives. I had a new wrap around fender painted that I will be putting on, also ordered the black ignition switch and latch lock set that I will be swapping out also. Then ordered a curved license plat bracket to get rid of the bill board crap on the rear. And lastly a black Drag Specialties jiffy stand to replace the chrome one, and some black crown air caps for the wheels.
With the exception of having to repair a stripped header bolt , all I have to do is change all my oil's , including brake fluid , then give the bike a really good once over and she's ready to go . We still have about 3 or 4 weeks before riding can officially begin , but it will give me something to do .
I'm also working on restoring an old Italian 69 mini cycle as well , fun . Had it running when I got it , so I'm looking forward to getting it done .
Not bike related , but myself and other local musicians have been working on some new songs and writing new material . We're working on putting together a small concert at our local church to help relax the nerves this virus has caused all of us .
Wife (ICU RN) and myself (IT) work at hospitals so not much downtime. I did start my cam/lifters/pushrods this past weekend and hope to have buttoned up today.
