lets hope the 3 didnt get any harder....they have always been the hardest tire on the market....thus the high milage....and the lack of stick...stay with oem guys...my opinion.....humbly
I've always got decent mileage out of the OEM tires but the rears cup so badly. Used the American Elites and they cupped as well but nowhere near as bad as the stockers do and gave good mileage as well.
Because I do I a lot of riding (25k+ a year), I want something that gives good mileage but still handles well. It's a 1,000 pound touring bike and not a rice rocket so I don't airmail it into the corners really hard. Just wondering what I should try next.
boy do u ride dude.. i envy u.. my original dunlops cupped on the rear also... and a little on the front... after that i upped air to about 42 rear and 40 front.... solved the problem it seems and still a good cushiony ride and stick....have 12k on this set and still look very good... maybe half life.... also riding with about 30lbs in shocks... idk much but this combination is workin for me so i am stayin put...every situation is different i suppose
What do you think caused this issue? What was the date the pic was taken and the production date of the tire?
There is some seriously odd wear on this tire.
Wow you're right that's really f'd up! Looks like it has some camber on it...!? Has bike been wrecked? Think I'd check out swingarm and make sure nothing's loose.

I was looking for the CIII tires as well, but could only locate the front. Rear size was out of stock everywhere I checked. I went with my second choice which was the Metzeler CruiseTec tires. Put about 200 miles on them Saturday, and after the first hundred miles I put them to the test. All I can say is they are so much better then the OEM Dunlops in so many ways. I did get over 17K miles out of the originals, so if these continue to perform throughout their life cycle, I'll buy these again provided I get similar mileage from them.
