Default TC light on - 2020 Road King Special (non RDRS)

Hey folks,

A weird thing has befallen my still-pretty-new FLHRXS. Was riding the other day and while cruising the TC (traction control) light illuminated. This is a non-RDRS bike so I don’t have a traction control button or anything.

I pulled into a parking lot and checked the bike out, everything looked ok. Powered it down, and started back up with the selector switch held down to check for DTCs - nothing. TC light stays on the whole time, including before I start the engine.

I finished my ride (~30 more miles) and the bike rode 100% normal, but the TC light is still illuminated. Checked the manual when I got home, and it stupidly says “Traction Control Lamp - Solid: Traction control has been turned off.” - well, yea, in that the bike doesn’t have traction control. Plus the light was off for the first 500+ miles.

I realize the ultimate solution will be to take it to the dealer, but due to the craziness in the world right now it’ll be a little while before that can happen. Was just wondering if anybody else has encountered this problem before, and if you guys think it’s still OK to ride it in this state. Many thanks!

Any ideas? Dealer isn't open due to the COVID-ing, and surprisingly there's nothing about this on the interwebs.

I see you have the upgraded analog speedo harley makes. I wonder if it has a setting to tell it whether or not the bike has rdrs. Do you have the instructions or a manual that came with that speedo? If not I would just try disconnecting the battery and see if it resets it self.

I can't even imagine traction control is a thing on a bike. Good luck getting it sorted out.

Default Same problem!

I have the combo Speedo/Tac with mph and km/h. I installed it, and now the TC light stays on. I am also getting a U0141h code. I checked the connections on my controls, and there are no problems. I wonder if the “missing” RDRS system is throwing that code and causing the TC light to stay on.

I haven’t seen a single post about this online until this one... Did disconnecting your battery fix it?

Where in Michigan are you from? All the dealerships in the Detroit area are open for service.

Dealer had to change a setting on the speedo firmware using their little computer thing (Digital Technician?). The speedo was flashed for an RDRS bike so it was throwing the fault because the (non-existent) traction control wasn’t responding.

Thanks. Funny, the warning came on after 50 miles. At least it's not something serious.
