I have a set of V&H Daytona 400s. Love them. Nice throaty sound. But, be aware, you will not get that low growl you are looking for with a cat and without a non HD tune. It will sound better, but likely not what you are going for. Just letting you know.
No, slip ons will not void a warranty. Worst case, you had to do warranty work, you can put the OEM stuff back on and no one would know. An aftermarket tuner, yes, that would void it. But slip ons, nope.
Cobra Neighbor Haters sound nice with the cat still in. They get very loud without. I've learned this is last couple weeks. When I go to a full exhaust I'll be selling them.
Cobra NH are best bang for the buck with the cat in. Without the cat too loud. They sound great
Hmm, so its either buy a set for the cats and wait, and then buy another set, or just wait. Thats the only part of a warranty that sucks. Will have to hang on to my Power Vision for sure.
I had the Screaming Eagle slip-ons, SE oval air filter/intake and the basic HD tuner for Stage 1. Like you, I didn't want to mess with the warranty. Was a nice improvement over stock w/r/t sound (didn't notice any performance difference). With that said, pretty mellow, and I often thought, "I wish it was louder and more guttural sound.." No regrets, but warranty expired was happy to go to
V&H Power Dual Header Pipes
Rinehart DBX 4.5
Power Vision
Stage 3
Now this was a huge performance/sound gain. I instantly felt the power difference (I went from 107 to 114). Exponential improvement on sound. Frankly, when I first got everything installed I thought it might be too loud. Before, I never worried bout the neighbors, but after I had a lot of, "my neighbors are gonna hate me" thoughts. Just barks loud with any throttle, loud, burbly sound on idle, some acceptable "popping" on de-acceleration and just MEAN. Thankfully, it mellowed out after 1000 miles or so. Still loud, but my "too loud" concerns went away.
So +1 for V&H header pipes (dad has them as well) and Rinehart DBX 4.5. A dealer may let you keep your warranty with both if they install, but they definitely won't with a Power Vision tune (I went PV as my warranty expired).
I suggest listening to YouTube videos.

I would be happy (I THINK LOL) with a REAL stage one, but with have to go with the CA EPA approved one for now, till the warranty is up. Would be stupid to void the warranty, so I will live with it. So far I am loving this bike as is, so not losing any fun thats for sure.
