Default Progress with eliminating buffeting with FF on 19 SGS

I've been working on eliminating my buffeting problem on my 19 SGS while wearing a full face helmet and have made some progress. Still need some help though.

I started with the below....

9" LRS Reaper Windshield
Adjustable Fairing Deflectors
JES Fangs

Still felt like i was getting smacked on the top of my head above 55mph. Ended up with a Klock Werks 8.5 which eliminated that problem completely.

I now have a new problem that I would like to solve. If I open my adjustable deflectors, or put my feet on my highway pegs I get buffeting. I don't think this happened before the Klock Werks 8.5.

What can I do to help with this problem? Lowers? Maybe I should remove the fairing deflectors and fangs to see how it is with just the shield.

Thanks

On my Road King I get the same depending on the direction of the natural wind. With my feet on the hyw pegs some slight buffeting but I really don't think it's possible to get rid of all wind as your legs are acting as a air scoop.

So, when wearing my half helmet, I was getting wind "popping" in my ears( which is actually buffeting). Rather irritating. I have the stock w/s, fangs, lower fairing deflectors, and the lower fork deflector. I opened the lower fairing deflectors, and it helped some. I completely removed them, and it totally eliminated the "ear popping". This was yesterday, I didn't get a chance to try my full face to see what result I had. Just going to have to try different combos to see what works for you. For me, lowers actually increased the buffeting, unless I was running them with the fangs. However, on a 90 degree day recently, it was just too hot with the lowers and fangs together, so I took the lowers off.

I've done everything under the Sun and can't get rid of buffeting on my '17 SG. Lowers, fangs, recurve windshield, wing deflectors, triple tree deflector - all installed, nothing stops the wind from coming between the fairing and my knees, not even lowers. The wind will come under the fairing and under the tank and wrap up around the tank. You can put your hand up against the tank, with your palm parallel to the ground it will stop the wind, which will stop the buffeting. That's most likely where the bobblehead air is coming from.

Remember too that the more air you divert, it has to have somewhere to go.

I opened the top vent on my Road Glide and it made a big difference.

I've been finding that out. Fix it somewhere, then it goes somewhere else. The weird thing is if I remove the fangs and only run lowers, I have to keep the fairing deflectors open to minimize the buffeting. It must be knocking the air down coming off the lowers. Opposite effect when I just run the fangs. I was brainstorming today about some adjustable deflector to put on the top of the engine guard to block/direct air up or down. I thought I saw in a thread where someone did something like that.

DK makes some wing deflectors that mount to the front gas tank bolts. (http://www.dkcustomproducts.com/cool...dk-cdw-trg.htm) not my cup o tea though

The non vented lowers that used to come on the EVO's were the best. They had a deflector on the inboard side that really did the job. When engine displacement and leaner engines heated things up, they changed the design. You can still buy the non vented lowers.

Consider the tank lift kid from DK. I've found it helps as well as allowing more air to move over the engine.

What's your current anti-buffeting setup right now? Shield, wings, fangs, lowers, etc?
