Bagger Exhaust??
I just put a set of S&S SPO Touring slip ons on my road glide. nice idle a little louder and rumbly, not exactly quiet on the highway but I can hear the radio fine. they sound great when ya jack the throttle. pricewise about the same as the SE touring muffs if ya get from someplace like Dennis Kirk. And without any other mod the bike didnt fall off as bad as the RPM's rose. they look awesome too.
I just completed a 9 day round-trip to Baja, Mexico (Cabo San Lucas). I put the SPO's on shortly before leaving.
Spending long hours in the saddle, day after day, will soon reveal a muffler that might get on your nerves.
The SPO's were perfect. A nice, deep growl when you get on the stick, but at cruise they just blend into the background.
No problem to hear the radio, and no headaches either.
Powerwise, these mufflers work very well with my overall engine build.
Compared to the SE Pro slip-ons I took off, the SPO's make the same, if not a bit more power overall (butt dyno).
I'm done experimenting with mufflers....the S&S SPO slip-ons are staying on my bike.
Regards,
Bill
I went with the S.E. Touring slip ons. In my opinion they look good with all the different tips you can chose, they sound good with out being obnoxious and performance is fair. They are also a well made muffler. There are a lot of poor quality pipes available. Ask a lot of questions and talk to people using style you want. Best power and one of the least loud are the Super Trapp 2 into 1's, they also are good quality. Price may also be a consideration, remember that you usually get what you pay for. I know when I was looking I noticed that almost every set of Hookers I saw had rust at the welds and showed alot of discoloration, not for me. I used Road House on a previous bike and the quality was about the worst of any exhaust that I had seen, with about the highest price. Shop around! We all have different preferences.
