Looking for some feedback on exhaust from you fine bagger owners. I have an '03 Ultra with stock exhaust, it's a bit like a sewing machine. I use to have a 2000 Heritage that I cutomized the heck out of...just want to ride this one and enjoy it. I love the radio so I don't want pipes that are so loud that I can't enjoy the tunes. I heard that the BUB SLIP-ON SLEEPERS are suppose to be nice for cruising, where they're not really loud unless you get on it. I welcome your comments and suggestions. I also don't want to do any engine mod's or anything like that, at least not at this time...Just want to enjoy riding for a change and NOT cleaning and polishing
I will say that I saw the Bubs on a buddy's bike and I liked them but not as much as I do My Rinehart's.The Rineharts are the best all around IMHO.They are quite when you want them to be but sound Great when you lean on the throttle. You're gonna hear plenty of opinions on this subject, that's why the make so many different pipes but for Me it's Rineharts.
I thought Rinehart and Bub were the same company? Had Rinehart short staggards on my 03 Fatboy and lost a lot of HP with them. Python 3's gave me an extra 11 HP when we dyno'd the bike after i had done the 95" big bore with High Compression heads and Pistons etc... They did sound good though!!
I'm running Vance & Hines True Duals with the Basic Slip-Ons. I like the sound of them. Nice low rumble at idle but they will open up when you get on it. I have heard and read a lot about the Rineharts but have yet to actually hear one up close. I'd love to get that opportunity to compare with mine. So for now the V&H setup is what I'm running.
SE SLip-ons do the job for me. I can vruise at 80 allday and be able to listen to the radio as my passenger can aslo, but when I open it up they will sing and boy do they sound good.
I'm not sure how they caompare pricewise with others.
I just put a set of S&S SPO Touring slip ons on my road glide. nice idle a little louder and rumbly, not exactly quiet on the highway but I can hear the radio fine. they sound great when ya jack the throttle. pricewise about the same as the SE touring muffs if ya get from someplace like Dennis Kirk. And without any other mod the bike didnt fall off as bad as the RPM's rose. they look awesome too.
