Hi hoping i can get some help.I have 2019 street glide.I am 5'9 and just put on 7 inch harley wind splitter and i get bad buffeting right at my eyes and if i put my chin down about 2-3 inches its fine. Was wondering Klock werks 8.5 is 8 inches to top of windshield. Is any one that is 5'9 have the 8.5 shield and can see over it and how it is for wind. The 7 inch is to short and i using a mustang wide tripper seat. Thanks in advance
I'm 5'7" (30" inseam - probably the more important measurement) with a Mustang Lowdown seat on my FLHTP (13" shocks). I have a Freedom Shields Electra Glide Classic/Standard Windshield 7" Lgt Grey Tint and it's perfect. The wind goes over my helmet (I wear a half helmet).
If you have buffeting, I suggest next time you are out and get buffeting, place your left arm horizontally across your chest. If the buffeting stops, or is reduced, the air is coming from below the fairing. You might need to place fangs or other type of deflector below. And like others have said, ideally you want to look over the windscreen, not through it. I had the LRS 8" shield on my SG and it worked fine for looking over (5'7" and 30" inseam). But then I had my seat redone by Mean City Cycles and had it lowered. Now I look through the LRS shield, so I put the stock screen back on. I can see over, wind is no issue, and still no buffeting (I put fugly fangs on mine). I would at least check with the arm to make sure the buffeting is from above or below before I spent a lot of money!!
You should look over the windshield. If youre not I would suggest cutting it down. I used painters tape and a fine tooth jigsaw. Then and the edge. LOTS of painters tape.

Strongly disagree. Actually, you should look over the windshield if that's how you wanna do it. You should look THROUGH the windshield if that's how you prefer to do it. I always preferred to look THROUGH mine. I bought a recurve last year, and thought I'd try looking OVER it. Not bad at all. I kinda liked it. BUT, I've been hit in the forehead three times, and once right on the tip of my nose, probably by bugs, but they felt like somebody threw a stone at me. I think I might put my other windshield back on, and look THROUGH it again for awhile, and see what I like better.
