Coil OHM'S Test
I posted this question in the Ignition forum but haven't got much response.
Hello, can anyone tell me the procedure to check for a good/bad coil? The coil I have is the plug/connector style off a 07 Street Glide. It has 4 male end posts. I just need to know what posts I check with the OHM meter and what the resistance should be. Thanks for the help. I googled but only saw the older style coils that do not have the plug style connector.
I found some info online about testing a similar plugged coil off s Subaru Forester. It had the 4 metal male end prongs are labeled A B C D. It said to put your multi meter leads on A B test the resistance and then on C D and test. I tried it this way and my meter reads OL on both tests.
This might be the completely wrong way to test it but it was the closet info I could find with that style plug.
