Leather with Thinsulate. And if it is really cold put on a pair of latex gloves first.

Quality leather gloves, that are not too tight on your fingers so they have a thermal layer around them. I use the H-D thisulate gloves without heaters....they are good to about 25 degrees and I have rode for about 200 miles that way at one time.

Good luck!

This also depends on the bike you ride. A rider behind a fairing usually gets considerably less wind across his hands. This reduces the cold factor quite a bit. If your hands are in the wind you'll need more insulation. You really have kind of a 'try and see' situation.

It really is a "try and see" approach depending on lots of factors...my hands seem to be always cold, so I usually have to double what normal riders need...what's worked ok for me so far has been wearing a liner glove inside a snowmobile glove...currently I'm using my Harley leather glove inside a Gortex North Face Gauntlet Snowboarder glove (cheap off of e-bay)...they're working great into the high 30's! I saw Costco had a box of 40 chemical hand warmers for $17.00 the other day...I was thinking about getting those for the real cold days...as I get older, I'm sure I'll be a heated grip or electric glove person!

I have a pair of the "Wind Stopper" gloves from HD, they are made of wool not leather, but they do not let any wind through to your hand and the wool holds body heat.

I use HD's heated gloves along with their heated vest. Last week riding into work was 32 degrees and I was still comfty, without having to dress in mutliple layers. I installed some heated grips on my wifes 883, which add comfort but the heat is not as uniform as the gloves.

Sincecrazy,

Where have you been? We've missed you here. Welcome back.

Sorry for the hijack.

I use HD's heavy gauntlant gloves most of the time, and have some glove liners to go in them for the really cold times. I also have a pair of HD waterproof gloves that are pretty good if it doesn't get real cold.

Regards,

Bill
