I am getting a lot of wind turbulance at highway speeds on my Road Glide. I thought it was because the stock windshield is too short but on a recent trip I found that it is comming from below the fairing and up between my legs. I wear a full face helmet and without the face shield the wind makes my glasses shake so much that vision is distorted. I haven't found anything for the Road Glide in Harley's catalog. Anybody know of a fix for this.
There's an air dam between the forks on a Road Glide that can be removed I think. Not sure if that helps the buffeting though. I've haven't played with mine yet.
I was having the same problem of my sunglasses vibrating so much it made my nose inch like hell, then i bought a pair of glasses that had pading around the eyes and now my glasses stay still.
I'm not happy to hear about this. I'm planning to get a RG and sell the Deuce. The buffeting is really bad on the Deuce with a windshied and there is nothing that I have done to reduce it. I've given up. Even bought a JacksFlaps vest which helped very little. I was hoping that buffeting would be a thing of the past with the RG.
I ride my RG with and with out helmet. I always wear sunglasses. I do not have a problem. The only area I have turbulance in around the forehead. Clearview windshield is on the list to add to the bike. Over all I have less buffeting than any other bike I have ever owned. I do know there are baffles you can add to the forks to calm some of the air. I will try and find the part number for ya.
The fork air baffle is standard on the 07 models, if I'm not mistaken. I added one on my 02 but couldn't tell a lot of difference. I also have lowers and the day I added it, I was wearingmy full face helmet. It may make a bigger difference than I think....
