My 2005 Ultra seems to put a lot of heat off the Y pipe and causes my wife's foot and leg to get excessively hot(in her opinion). What I am wanting to know, what are my cures? True duals, some kind of shield(haven't seen on anywhere)air wings, etc..
I installed Vance and Hines Dresser Duals and no more complaints from my wife! Plus they add stereo sound! I carefully removed the original poor design and sold it on e-bay for about $90. So the new system cost me about $210 after selling the original. Eastern Performance has a good deal on V&H Dresser Duals with free shipping!
Wife was the same way... Ended up raising up the floorboards and installing RJ's Orignals Shields - Just got back from a 2000+ mile trip with temps of over 115+ degrees and she said "THEY WORK" http://www.rjsoriginals.com/
Bad news here. I have Rinehart TDs and my GF left some of her boot sole on the left pipe along with her heat complaints the first time she rode. She wants me to add Kury adjustable pegs to get her left boot further from the pipe. What choice do I have?
Well, if you DO add the adjustable pegs, please post pics and review. My wife wants them too, not because of heat, just wants another foot position.
P.S. She leaves heel marks on that left side pipeon every ride. I've quit complaining, I just let the pipe cool and clean it up. She's gotta run out of heel sooner or later!
