Anyone have any sources for some sort of clear plastic kit to be applied to the snout of an EGC to protect the fairing paint and maybe to the front of the bags and tour pak? I know they exist, just too lazy to spend too much time looking. I tried Harley's catalog and a couple of searches, but gave up easily. One already cut to shape would be optimum. Thanks in advance for your help.
Cabelas.com has a 3mpaint protector6" wide x 12' I think for about $20. Just cut to fit.Clear film for just whatyou are talking about, my dad also found some @ home depot in the automotive area a little while back but havent seen it lately here localy.
i sem to recall that Sticker City on the net has precut kits. i bought a yard of the 3M film (same as we use on helicopter rotor blades for sand protection) and covered the tops of my saddlebags to prevent damage. the film is crystal clear.
There are several vendors who sells an entire 3M protective film kit for baggers. Links are below. I am having it done to my custom RG next month. I have to let the paint dry first (30 days) before it can be applied. I would suggest that you have the film applied professionally. You can do it yourself, but the result may not be optimum. Good luck!
Thanks, guys. that is the info I was seeking. I had found the 6" strip stuff, but did not want anything with seams to work loose. I bought one of these kits to fit a Z3 Beamer once, but no onecould figure out how to intall it without bubbles, even the dealers. Hopefully it is easier on the snout of a bagger.
