If buying the bike has you tapped, you made a poor decision.
Just ride it for awhile and figure out what's the next thing to add that you can't afford.

That is an ignorant thing to say. You dont know me or my financial situation. I dont finance my toys and dont have much left Im willing to spend on add ons at this time..... DICK.
Dealer is Black hills H-D. They over night paperwork, I sign and return. Ive taken a pic of my ODO and agreed not to ride my FXDLS from this point on. i will own their bike and they will own the FXDLS. im now considering shipping both, or running out there sooner right after the 4th. Or just wait until the rally and pick it up. Im trailering out and back either way.
They are good either way I decide to go. Fantastic dealer to work with!
That is a cool store, we were just through there around Memorial Day on a long ride.
I too traded my FXDLS for a FLHXS.
The list of mods is long.
A taller shield is a good idea, as posted above. I have a 7" WindSplitter, and a 10" WindSplitter for the long rides in shitty weather.
Rush makes the miter cut slips if you like a deep throaty sound. Theyre called Gangster with the slash up cut for the M8 bikes. They are the same as the Big Louies. I have these on my King.
I installed the slash cut Tab performance mufflers with the zombie baffles
sound absolutely incredible... and thats with the factory head pipe
so easy to install to
check out my how to video
...I'd like to add slip ons, quick detach docking hardware and a QD backrest/cargo rack. I also intend to install daymaker, CD Led inserts F&R immediately.... Slip ons I usually like the miter cut look that follows the lines of the bags...
I put on the Magnaflow 4.5 Hitmans on my '19 SGS just because thay have the up-slanted tips the follow the angle of the bags. They sound good to me...not too loud, but loud enough when you get up and go.
If I would make one suggestion it would be to have the dealer instal passing lamps (Street Glides look naked with out them). Then I would consider doing all CD LED products, eg; Turn signal inserts and matching Pro Beam Headlight and Passing lamps after you get it home. Then, when $$$'s are available add some extra rear lighting. IMHO. Street Glides need more rear lighting.

Maybe something like this!
Enjoy your new ride.
Its funny in an awesome way how taste are so different. No passing lights on the SGS was one of the selling points to me. I found that LED bulbs in the frt turn signals along with LED headlight, provides great visibility. Now the rear could definitely use more visibility and your bike fits that bill! Anyway....different looks are what makes H-D unique!!
OP: enjoy the new SGS. Arguably the best H-D Ive ever owned, and Ive owned some good ones.

Agreed, I like a cleaner look, with FEWER lights. LEDs in the turns, and a JW Speaker in the Headlight provide more than enough light.
Some guys just like a lot of lighting, and that is cool
Sounds like you are right on track with your planned mods. The CD lights are great. After a couple years of SGS ownership, I would say the say that my three "must haves" are 1) rider backrest, 2) taller bars with less pull back, and 3) 13 inch rear shocks. Maybe watch the Laidlaw HD YouTube video on Fox vs Legend shocks on a SGS.
Enjoy the ride! I know there's no way I could wait to get on the road to pick up that bike. I'd be on the way there the next day!

Reason: Spelling
In OPs defense he said kinda tapped. He meant his toy budget was tapped. I can understand what you thought. I meet a lot of guys on new bikes, who have no business spending that kind of money. Then something happens, and theyre upside down.
