I purchased my first Harley, a 2011 Road King with 5,000 miles. The sound of it is ok, Id like to enhance it by adding slip-ons. As mentioned above, this is my first Harley, therefore I have not worked on a Harley or any bike as far as that is concerned. I have changed out the handlebars though. That being said, can I add slip-ons without changing over the entire exhaust system? What slip-on have you tried and liked? Is this a project I should be able to do as a newbie? Thanks for any answers or advice. Ride safe!
You can add slip-on's without changing the whole exhaust system; in fact, there's no reason why you should change the whole system. Adding slip-on's is about as easy as it gets. If you can turn a wrench, you can do it. You didn't mention what kind of air filter the bike has, or if any sort of tuner has been added.
Im assuming this is the tuner. No markings on it what-so-ever. Nor is there any markings on the air filter.

Not a lot the dealer informed me about when he learned I never owned a Harley before. I will try attaching a photo of the air cleaner. No idea where to even look to see a tuner.

When I bought the bike I was told it had a stage 2 kit installed. When I asked wth that meant I was told it had some modifications to the carb to make it perform better. Other than that, yes I was told those are stock pipes.
Stage 2 would mean cams have been added that along with that breather would lead me to believe the exhaust has been modified. How about some pics of the exhaust.

That bike doesn't have a carb. It's fuel injected. If it's got a Stage 2, that bike has to have been tuned. BTW, that picture is not the tuner.
