Iclick has offered well considered opinions on several topics. He usually backs up his opinion with his reasoning, which is a lot more than some do. ("get this, I have it and it's the best!")

It's just one man's opinion, like any other review of a product. He doesn't answer to sponsor advertising, like commercial web sites or magazines.

He and I don't always agree, but I always respect his opinion.

I've heard those are good too. This thread really isn't about which swingarm stabilizer works best anymore.

no, what you said that has quite a few of my fellow bikers upset with you was:

Cool

I just purchased a "new to me" 08 SG and have not noticed the tail wagging the dog....yet. I wanted to know about these braces and have just read through all of the posts.

I will continue to look and decide on a brace when I have done some research of my own.

Thanks for your in depth product evaluations and comments!

Let us review briefly the past few days of replies and determine who provoked whom 2˝ years after the original post. This thread was in a deep coma until you and Ragdoctor revived it.

No one is attacking others on the market as you so state, we are and we will continue to state facts that the company has learned through R & D.
If you feel the need to make claims about the superiority of your product you should be willing and able to substantiate them with documentation or a detailed explanation when requested. You seemed to have the time on your hands to jump into the discussion originally so you should be as willing to provide details when asked. You haven't done so, yet anyway, so I will stand on the conclusions made over 2˝ years ago in the original post.

Had you been willing to discuss the details of your claims I would've been your most attentive listener, as I'm here to learn as well as share ideas. If I thought TT was the best of the breed I would be recommending it, but as of now I'll stand by my recommendation of the Progressive Touring Link, mostly because it functions like all the rest and is reasonably priced. It wasn't my selection because in 2007 it wasn't available.

You started the "game" with this now-famous comment: "As always bikers know everything and nothing." Let me help you to understand why I made that suggestion:

Stupid -- adj., Slow to learn or understand; obtuse.

If we are accused of knowing nothing we might assume you mean that we are stupid.

Indianspringsaz - a response was posted that I do not sell True-Track products nor do I work for them and I am not a he I am a she! I knew the inventor for over 20 years. My post reflected an email file from Wil "the inventor" explaining back in 2006 the differences between his invention and at that time, Ride Str8 one of the first imitators. This bickering on the forum is riduculous - the man put in many hours of hard work, and much research, not forgetting a boat load of money to bring his product to the rubber mounted community of riders, only to be knocked off. Though this is commom in the world of motorcycles it is frustrating and angering to those of us who knew him well. If I offended anyone it was not my intention - maybe I was on the rag!!

The fact that your friend was "knocked off" is not the fault of anyone on this forum. Most of us that bought an "anti-rear steer" devise did so after listening to reviews of the products and the opinions of members like iclick. In spite of the fact that we know everything and nothing, the debate here is finished. Perhaps your connection with Wil is responsible for your necro-post, but the real issue is the attitude of whoever posted for Tru Track. They were offensive, not you.

In knowing the folks over at True-Track I don't believe their intention was of a negative outlash in the statement as discussed here of recent. Bikers, in my experience, have a tendancy to bring about conversation as done in this forum and other forums based on mere hearsay. I tend to agree with the post - this leads to knowing all and knowing nothing at the same time. If it were brought to light with documentation, yes all the better, but, I also believe in order to bring to the table what you are asking for - this would be a disclosure of their trade secrets. I've heard that the product has now received its patent and I would assume this gives them the leg up to finally cease and desist those that have piggy backed all these years off of Wil Phillips invention. No one even considered this until Wil brought this to the market - do I harbor frustration - you bet. Do I have the answers you were seeking regarding the original post, absolutely not as I am not an engineer and Wil is no longer alive to give you his response. I wish you a wonderful and blessed day and know that my input was never ment to offend you nor others reading this information.

You said later on that he patented the design, so why did he take so long? TT has been in business since 1996 according to their website. That should've been his first priority unless he wasn't the first to bring this design to fruition. Without it do you expect everyone to stay out of the market forever?

Okay, then would you care to list those items of hearsay that were contained in the original post considering the state of the market at that time? I have no idea what you are complaining about except that the marketer of RideStr8 and others have had the temerity to introduce products competitive with one a friend of yours allegedly invented but either failed to patent or waited too late.

Further, you allege that other products will destroy components of the bike yet you fail to provide documentation or detailed explanation when asked to do so. Now you claim you aren't an engineer and can't explain it.

I tend to agree with the post - this leads to knowing all and knowing nothing at the same time.
Again, what that's contained in this thread qualifies for this accusation? Would you like to take my original post and in the context of the period written comment on any misconceptions or erroneous claims made?

If it were brought to light with documentation, yes all the better, but, I also believe in order to bring to the table what you are asking for - this would be a disclosure of their trade secrets.
This is pure BS. You have an aluminum box that attaches to two heim joints and a rod that extends laterally and connects to another piece of aluminum and you're afraid of exposing trade secrets? Like what? This product has all the technological complexity of a screwdriver and you are avoiding the questions posed earlier.

I've heard that the product has now received its patent and I would assume this gives them the leg up to finally cease and desist those that have piggy backed all these years off of Wil Phillips invention. No one even considered this until Wil brought this to the market - do I harbor frustration - you bet.
This sounds like an emotional problem, not one that should be introduced in an old thread about a competitive product. The thread was originally started to report on the installation of the RideStr8, not how Wil Phillips has been unfairly damaged by the competition. If the TT has a patent or one is pending I doubt if a corporation like Progressive Suspension and others would compete in the field at all. Anyway, why did Wil take so long to apply for a patent? His website says he's been in business since 1996. I did a search on the U. S. Patent Office site for "True-Track" and it came up empty.

Do I have the answers you were seeking regarding the original post, absolutely not as I am not an engineer and Wil is no longer alive to give you his response.
You certainly acted like you were an engineer and knew all about the design of the product a few days ago when you made numerous claims about the superior TT design and the inferiority of the competition. You also weren't shy about claiming the competition may or will damage critical components of the bike. What was missing was documentation or detailed explanation, neither of which have yet to surface. Also, TT is still in business and someone can answer these questions, like maybe the TT rep who replied earlier in the week. What happened to him?

For what ever reason, I chose to put the RideStr8 on two of my past bikes, a 2001 RG and an 06 EGC. Both bikes
handling was improved to the point where romping through the corners became fun rather than a terrifying event.
I've owned a 2009 RG for over a year now and have yet to experience any, repeat ANY, handling problems
that would require a RideStr8 or TrueTrac or any similar product that someone may be selling.
Some of you may recognize the location of the picture below. It's on Washington's North Cascade Highway. It's a great
road where the posted speed limit is 60mph and the recommend curve speeds are a lot lower.
