I don't use heated gear. Thermal underwear, flannel shirt, jeans, leather chaps and coat, helmet liner, full face helmet. The helmet liner helps tremendously. I have Fox Creek Deerskin Gauntlets with a liner. They work great. I would only ride in that temperature with a fairing bike.

Waiting for summer. I drove year round and 10 miles of 37 F made my knees hurt. I would have fallen off the bike before 275 miles...

I've ridden in ice and freezing conditions in the past, to below minus 10 dec C, and resorted to doing the following on a few occasions. There is a very simple solution to cold feet - get off the darned bike, on a level road, and push it for half a mile! Circulation stimulated you'll be fine for a while. Repeat as necessary! C'mon - you're an Aussie - get creative.....

I put hand warmers inside a pair of knee pads and it feels good.

Lowers are your friend when the temps get lower outside. They do make heated socks if you really need the heat.

Get a good heated liner or vest. Keep your core warm and your extremities will usually follow.

And like others have said, something down low to block the wind. Lowers are good, but if all you have is engine guards, get engine guard covers.

Me, if I thought I was gonna ride in those temps for a long time, I can grab a pair of light weight snowmobile boots. About $115 USD.

That and my snowmobile bibs, and I can ride in stoooopid cold weather. (Which I have)

Also, maybe ride more north?

I’m an Ironworker and spent my career in some pretty harsh places, what I’ve learned about feet is to put the boots on last and try to sweat as little as possible in them, feet sweat easily and once your socks are wet from the sweat your feet will freeze, insulated boots and one pair of socks is all you need.
